New Delhi: Girls again outshone boys in the ICSE and ISC board examination results declared across India on Wednesday, with Class 10 students recording a pass percentage of 98.05 per cent and Class 12 of 97.08 per cent.
In the Class 10 Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ICSE), the pass percentage of girls was 98.14 per cent, while that of boys was 96.90 percent. Both Class 10 and 12 exams were conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination.
In the Class 12 Indian School Certificate Examination (ISC), the pass percentage of girls, at 98.18 per cent, was better than that of boys at 96.21 per cent.
The overall pass percentage in both Class 10 and 12 have improved marginally over last year.
For Class 10, the pass percentage was 98.05 per cent - 0.01 per cent higher than last year. For Class 12, the figure was 97.08 per cent, which was 0.04 per cent better than last year.
A total 108,217 students - of which 60,812 were boys and 47,405 girls - took the ICSE exams in India this year.
In ISC, 52,552 students sat for the exam. Of this 29,207 were boys and 23,345 were girls.
