BANGALORE: Leave office early. That seems to be the new catchphrase in town. “And that’s what Bangalore will be doing on June 24,” says Sanjeev Khera, regional hub head (South India) and chief operating officer, CDMA operations, Karnataka Circle, Tata Teleservices Limited.Tata Photon’s Leave Office Early campaign that was rolled out on June 1, with the launch of a new microsite, www.leaveofficeearly.com, is an attempt to encourage people to finish work faster and leave office early. The Leave Office Early campaign is a concept that emphasises the importance of using high-speed mobile internet at work, which will enable professionals faster downloads, uploads and mail speeds, thereby reducing the time needed to complete any online responsibilities. Why this campaign? “To get all Indians to begin to appreciate the time they have outside their professional sphere. We are starting our campaign in Bangalore. We will soon extend it to other cities as well,” says Khera. And for that, they have identified June 24 as the day when Bangalore will observe this initiative. This is how it works.People have to visit the website and take a pledge to leave office early on June 24. Once you register, you will get an identification number. A print out of the page will serve as a proof for dicounts in many stores across the city, including Croma, Morphy Richards, Gelato, Fitness One, Seventy MM, US Pizza, Serene Spa, Landmark, Cookie Man, Inox and the likes, where you can shop between 4 pm and 8 pm on June 24. The print out will also double up as a pass for the concert by Neeraj Sridhar from Bombay Vikings, the same night at Palace Grounds.“We are launching the concept in Bangalore as it is a hub of professionals. At the finale, CEOs from different companies will talk about work life, family life balance as well,” says Khera. The concert by Neeraj Sridhar will be held at the indoor venue of Palace Grounds on Friday, 24 June at 6 pm. For register, visit www.leaveofficeearly.com.
