KOCHI: As part of its massive operation to nab ganja peddlers here, the City Police on Sunday arrested a noted ganja dealer near the Goshree Bridge.The arrested was identified as Manu, 23, of Pachalam.He was the fourth drug peddler to be arrested by the Kochi City Shadow police team in the past two days.According to the police, Manu used to sell ganja packets to migrant labourers camping in various parts of the city.His activities were put under surveillance for the past few days by a squad led by Special Branch Assistant Commissioner M Shamsu Illikkal and SI Muhammed Nizar.He was picked up by the squad while he was trying to sell ganja packets to migrant labourers.The police suspect that Manu was engaged in ganja peddling earlier in Bangalore.In another case, on Saturday, the Shadow Police arrested three from Kalamassery - Aruve, 30, Pandian, 20, and Prabhakaran, 20, of Theni, Tamil Nadu.The police alerted the public against the massive operation of ganja peddlers in the city and requested the public to provide valuable inputs to bust drug trafficking.Public can inform about drug peddlers by calling 0484-2385002.
