Top leaders of the INDIA bloc attended Omar Abdullah's oath ceremony on Wednesday. Other than the INDIA bloc, Omar Abdullah's family members also attended his swearing-in ceremony.

Omar Abdullah on Wednesday took oath as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, in the presence of INDIA bloc leaders in full strength. Despite the reports of a rift within the National Conference-Congress alliance, the Gandhis were in attendance.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, party leader Rahul Gandhi, and party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi attended Omar’s oath ceremony.

Others who attended the ceremony included People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Left leaders Prakash Karat and D Raja, Kanimozhi from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s party DMK, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)’s Supriya Sule.

Video shows Mehbooba Mufti being welcomed by Omar Abdullah’s father and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah.

Omar Abdullah’s family, including Farooq Abdullah, mother Molly Abdullah, his two sisters, and two sons attended his oath ceremony.

Another video showed Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha reaching the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. He administered the oath to Omar Abdullah as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

A video from the oath ceremony venue showed guests seated, ahead of Omar Abdullah’s swearing-in.

In the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections held recently, the National Conference won 42 out of the 90 seats while alliance partner Congress bagged six. Together, the two pre-poll allies hold a majority in the 95-member assembly — five members are to be nominated by the Lieutenant Governor.
