New Delhi: A series of explosions ripped through the fenced area of the Tata Motors'-acquired land in West Bengal's Singur late on Monday night.

According to SHO of Singur Police Station, four locally-made bombs exploded around 2230 hrs (IST) inside the fenced area of the Tata-acquired land.

There was no immediate report of any injury in the explosions and no arrests have been made so far.

The SHO said the police was investigating the matter.

Singur has, in the recent past, been the flashpoint of violent protests over the proposed Tata Motors' plant.

While the state government does not want to go back on the committment made to the Tatas, farmers are fiercely opposing it, citing rehabilitation issues.
