THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of the increasing demand for interest and skills as a prerequisite for professionalism, pursuing education in the right field is a necessity. Gone are the days when students joined courses of their choice after passing out from school. Promising to help parents find the suitable school to admit their children to nurture their talents and interests, EduAlert Services Private Limited, a city-based education management company, is coming up with ‘SchoolFinder’, a one-stop portal to access details regarding a school based on the nature of curricular and co-curricular activities provided by it. Rajeevnath V, chief executive officer, EduAlert Services Private Limited says, “It is depending on the friends’ circle that the character formation of a child happens. So, it is important that the child gets acquainted with like-minded ones in a favourable learning environment. To enable people find such suitable study environs for children is what we aim through the website.” The site, which is now in its beta version, is planned to be launched this month itself. In the trial version, the site is supposed to include details regarding schools in the city. The site would facilitate the viewers to find a school by typing the name of the school and location on the boxes provided. Based on the interest of the child in arts, sports or some other activity, schools that give importance to such things can be found. On the site, schools can create a profile of theirs by providing information regarding the basic features of the school, details of each class (total strength and openings), co-curricular activities, details of faculty members, infrastructure and also achievements of teachers and students. “Though we will add the details of city schools in the beginning, within three months, we plan to extend it across the State. As a pre-launch screening, we also provide an opportunity to interested schools to upload their activities and mark suggestions by accessing the link, schoolfinder.edualert.in” says Rajeevnath. The service is absolutely free.
