HYDERABAD: A galaxy of Congress leaders and a large number of Congress workers were present when former PCC chief D Srinivas filed his nomination for the MLC seat vacated by former chief minister K Rosaiah, in the byelection.Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana, Tirupati MLA K Chiranjeevi, Congress T leader Madhu Yashki Goud, minister D Nagender, several Congress senior leaders and MLAs were present on the occasion.Srinivas, who served as the PCC chief for two consecutive terms, led the Congress to victory along with YS Rajasekhara Reddy.Srinivas seems to be still wielding good command over the party as leaders of both Andhra and Telangana regions were present at the time of filing his nomination papers.However, Srinivas was the last man to reach the Assembly to file his papers.Chiranjeevi, Kiran Kumar and several other Congress leaders reached the Assembly at 12.40 p.m, the muhurat fixed by Srinivas to file his nomination.Minister Nagender greeted Srinivas by kissing on his cheeks.Srinivas thanked AICC president Sonia Gandhi for nominating him to the MLC seat.
