They had kept a cricket scene pending for over 60 days for the rains in Mumbai

Mumbai: The team of Ferrari Ki Sawaari starring Sharman Joshi was kept waiting for long by the Mumbai rains for a particular cricket sequence, which they wanted to shoot in the downpour.

Produced by Vinod Chopra Productions, Ferrari Ki Sawaari is about a young father's endeavour to fulfil his son's dream. The entire team had kept one scene pending for over 60 days especially for the rains as they wanted to shoot it under natural rainfall.

Last week, the cricket sequence at the University ground in Marine Lines was filmed amidst heavy downpour. The team managed to shoot the two-day-long cricket sequence in the desired weather. The film, directed by Rajkumar Hirani's assistant Rajesh Mapukar, stars Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.

"For this film, we have shot in the authentic backdrop of Mumbai University, we have also shot live on roads amongst live audience even when shooting with Sharman. So it was very important for us to authentically shoot this cricket sequence as it happens to be one of our most important sequences," director Rajesh Mapuskar said. "The entire cast and crew were supportive and made sure that we film according to the script, he said. The director is now gearing up to complete the rest of the film as scheduled."

"Almost 60 per cent of the filming is over and we are very much running on schedule. Our next schedule of shoot will begin post September...after the rains," Mapuskar said.

The film is scheduled to be released on 23rd December this year.
