New Delhi: Ferrari's Felipe Massa won the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday, posting his first win of the Championship this season.
Brazilian Massa, who started on pole, finished a comfortable first ahead of McLaren rookie Lewis Hamilton.
Massa's Ferrari teammate Kimi Raikonnen finished third.
However, McLaren's Fernando Alonso just couldn't step up the heat, having to settle for fifth, behind German BMW driver Nick Heidfeld.
It was a historic podium finish for Hamilton as he jumped to the top of the Driver's Championship after finishing in the top three in his first three races.
Hamilton finished third at the Australian GP and second at the Malaysian GP.
The outcome sees a three-way tie for the championship lead, with Raikkonen, Alonso and Hamilton tied on 22 points each from three races.
Formula 1 now takes a one-month break before the Spanish Grand Prix on May 13 in Barcelona.
