The actress opened up about the couple's split and fears about the future.

Melbourne: Michelle Williams has spoken of her break-up with Heath Ledger and life as a single mother in an interview she gave before the actor's death in January.

The 27-year-old year actress opened up about the couple's split, learning to move on and her uncertainty about the future.

"Obviously so much has changed for me in the last few months that I don't really have an idea of what my life is going to be," News.com.au quoted her, as telling UK magazine Wonderland in the interview, published today.

"I thought I knew certain things and it turned out that I didn't, so I don't really try and anticipate so much anymore.

"I'm not making any bets on the future,” she added.

The couple split up last September. Ledger is also the father of the couple’s two-year-old daughter Matilda.

The former Dawson's Creek star said she loves domestic life.

"I love domestic life. There's been a lot going on in my personal life and part of me is ... I don't know. I shouldn't talk about it, but it's like I'm re-emerging back into the world or something,” she said.

Williams said while the break-up was painful, she had managed to find one silver lining - less attention from the paparazzi.

"When you're in a relationship with somebody who is also a public personality, then it doubles the attention from the media," she said.
