Engineers burnt body found in Tindivanam

CHENNAI:  Six days after a city engineer was reported ‘missing’, the 24-year-old’s burnt body was found in Tindivanam on Tuesday.The victim’s medico wife has alleged that he had been kidnapped and murdered by her relatives.On June 2, C Parthasarathy, a BTech graduate, had left for Tidel Park where he worked, but did not return home that night. Worried about her husband, N Saranya, a fourth-year medical student, filed a complaint at the local police station, alleging that either her family members or a former suitor could have had a hand in his disappearance. “But the police refused to pay heed and only registered a ‘man missing’ complaint,” she told reporters on  Wednesday. “Had they taken cognisance of my fears, the tragedy could have been averted,” she said. Parthasarathy and Saranya, had met online and fallen in love. The couple had a register wedding on February 10 despite Saranya’s family opposing the relationship. The wedding was solemnised with religious rites on February 23. Earlier, Saranya’s parents had fixed her engagement with another youth, the police said.Saranya moved in with her husband and father-in-law Chandramohan in their rented home on Aiya Mudali Street in Chintadripet. She said her father Narasimhan was an assistant engineer with the Metrowater Board and her mother Lata, a teacher. They were residents of Periyar Nagar in Perambur.  On Tuesday, the Chintadripet police received information that a man’s burnt body matching the description of the missing engineer had been found among bushes at Olakku, Tindivanam, on the Chennai-Tiruchi Highway. Parthasarathy’s father, who was taken to the spot for identification, confirmed that it was his son. Registering a case of kidnap and murder, the cops started a probe into the case.
