New York: Writer Tom Sykes says Prince Harry started drinking when he was sent to the British boarding school Eton College.
According to pagesix.com, Sykes says that at Eton liquor is a part of the reward system and a special privilege for boys.
In his new drinking memoir What Did I Do Last Night? A Drunkard's Tale, he writes, "In England, the legal drinking age is 18, but at Eton College you are allowed in the school bar, which is called Tap at 16. The school circumvented the licensing laws by claiming Tap was a private club."
"Technically, you were only allowed two pints of beer. In reality, you had to fall over before they cut you off," he further writes.
Sykes was kicked out of Eton before he could graduate because of an alcohol-related incident.
