BANGALORE: Just a day after Vijayalakshmi filed case against her actor-husband Darshan, her sister-in-law has filed a dowry harassment case against her, her elder brother Vasudev and mother Sumathi.The case was registered in Girinagar police station on Saturday.Srilakshmi, a resident of Sunkadakatte, is the woman who has filed the complaint.According to her, she was married to Vasudev in 2001 and she allegedly deserted him later following repeated harassment by his family.“Vasudev and his family members treated me well in the beginning.We were residing at Veerabhadreshwara Nagar near Nayandahalli.Later, they started harassing me for dowry and abused me physically and mentally.Vijayalakshmi was not married during that time,” she alleged.She said that being unable to bear the harassment she went to her parents’ home in Sunkadakatte in 2002 when she was pregnant.“However, Vasudev convinced and took me back to his home after delivery.But, again the family started harassing me.By that time, Vijayalakshmi was married to Darshan.Though I tried twice to file police case against them, Vijayalakshmi used her influence and ensured that no case was registered by the police,” she charged.When asked about why she was registering the case now, Srilakshmi stated that Vijayalakshmi herself had registered a case against her husband Darshan and it had prompted her to think of registering a case against the three with the help of a pro-women organisations.Meanwhile, Vasudev has denied the allegations and has told that she was forcing him to change the house and deserted him as he was in a low-profile job.
