BANGALORE: Creating a platform for the differently abled, it was an altogether different and unique job fair "Sphoorthi" organised by HealthAdd, a youthdriven IT consultancy, in coordination with IDL Foundation on Saturday.
About 200 differently abled job seekers from various districts of the state were present. Pouring out her anxiety, 29-year-old Rani, a physically challenged from Mysore said: "I have completed BE in 2009. But, due to my physical disability, I could not go for interviews and I used to feel inferior. My parents are into farming. If I get a job today, I can probably relieve their burden and help them financially."Speaking to TNIE about "Sphoorthi", Yatish Babu, partner, HealthAdd, said: "We realized that the differently abled people are one among the neglected lots in the society. Initially, we appointed a few of them in our own consultancy and they have proved us that workwise they are no less than a normal person. Unlike the normal employees, they take break only during their lunch hours. They are very dedicated, once you make them understand what their work is, they do it whole heartedly. At present about 90 percent of our employees are differently abled."
