The CBI has cleared Driver Manoj Kathuria, who was arrested in connection with the Rajinder Nagar deaths, of criminal charges. The agency told the Delhi High Court that no criminality can be attributed to Kathuria.

The case, being probed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), was transferred from the Delhi Police to the CBI by the high court.
