Delhi Child Home Superintendent Held For Molesting, Assaulting Girls
The FIR has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at the Lajpat Nagar police station.

New Delhi: A superintendent of a children's home in Delhi has been arrested over charges of molestation.

The girls in the children's home complained that Superintendent Ram Sahay Meena had molested them following which the police arrested and filed an FIR against him.

The FIR has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at the Lajpat Nagar police station.

The incident came to light when Delhi's Women and Child Welfare Minister Sandeep Kumar visited the Lajpat Nagar Village Cottage Home for Children on June 3 where the girls told him about the molestation. Some of them also accused Meena of sexually assaulting them.

According to the girls, all less than 10 years of age, Meena molested and assaulted them during dance classes.

After hearing about the charges, Kumar ordered the sacking of Meena and and a woman employee who witnessed the molestation but did not protest or inform the authorities.

The home has around 50 girls and 10 of them were participating in a dance competition.
