The government has extended till October 31 the deadline for filing of income tax returns for taxpayers in calamity-hit Uttarakhand. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the apex body for framing policies of the I-T department, has issued orders in this regard on Tuesday.
The government has extended till October 31 the deadline for filing of income tax returns for taxpayers in calamity-hit Uttarakhand. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the apex body for framing policies of the I-T department, has issued orders in this regard on Tuesday.
All the assessees residing or those being assessed in Uttarakhand will stand to benefit from this decision, a senior official said. The regular deadline for filing of I-T returns by salaried and individual class of taxpayers is July 31.
