Mumbai: The 2nd day of the Prithvi theatre festival in Mumbai was dedicated only to the theatre veteran Satyadev Dubey with the show The Dubey show
“I thank all the people who are mad enough to come see a festival in which I am the main villain,” says theatre personality, Satyendra Dubey.
Celebrating the most loved and the most hated man of Hindi theatre S D were his students. The show showcased snippets of his life and his contribution to theatre. All his colleagues and students couldn't help but talk about his peculiarities.
“He's a walking talking contradictions. At one stage you hate him. At the same time you love him also. But if you love him you also hate him,” says film maker Govind Nihlani.
“Whatever if at all there is good in me it’s only because of Dubey, all my bad points are my original,” says film maker Amol Palekar.
“There are two things about him, one is he gets impressed if you have beautiful women with you. And 2nd is he has to find a girl somewhere closer to his liking in the terms of signs, he will ask what your zodiac sign is and I hope you are not a Gemini,” says actor Makrand Deshpade.
The 10day long festival will go on at Prithvi theatre Juhu , Karnataka sangh at Matunga and Horniman circle at fort in Mumbai. So for theatre lovers in the city it is the time to head to one of these venues.
