New Delhi: Parliament deadlock on the 2G spectrum scam continued for the 19th day on Wednesday.

Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 12 noon after Opposition MPs remained adamant on their demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) investigation into the multi-crore 2G spectrum scam.

Both Houses began with MPs observing a minute of silence to grieve the death of the toddler who died in the Varanasi blast.

However, within seconds of that the Opposition began chanting their now familiar slogan. The Lok Sabha was adjourned till Thursday soon after it commenced at 12 noon.

Parliament has not been able to do any business for the past 18 days because of the deadlock over the 2G scam.

On day 19 Opposition parties were not in the mood to give in on their demand for a Joint Parliament Probe into the 2G spectrum scam.

AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa said there was no alternative to a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the 2G spectrum scam and the Opposition would not rest till the investigation was ordered.

"Mere resignation of A Raja as Telecom minister is not the end of the whole imbroglio. The inquiries have to go beyond estimating the loss suffered by the nation," she said.

The CBI is raiding the residences of ex-Telecom Minister A Raja in Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Raids are also on at the residences of Raja's key aides RK Chandolia & Siddharth Behura.
