PUDUCHERRY: The local unit of the CPM has demanded a judicial inquiry into the alleged irregularities in engaging workers for government jobs in the past 10 years of Congress rule in the UT.In a statement here on Wednesday, CPM local unit secretary V Perumal alleged that during the seven-and-a-half-year rule under Chief Minister N Rangasamy and another two-and-a-half years under V Vaithilingam, recruitments were made in violation of the prescribed rules. According to him, neither the seniority list as per the employment exchange nor the reservation policy was followed in recruitments to government jobs. He alleged that persons from certain constituencies were given preference, while others secured jobs by paying bribes. He urged the youth to organise demonstrations demanding transparency in recruitments and promised the support of his party for the same.
