BHUBANESWAR: The CPI (ML) has condemned the kidnapping of two Italian nationals by CPI (Maoist).In a statement, general secretary of the CPI (ML), KN Ramchandran said by abducting the two Italians, the CPI (Maoist) has provided a very good opportunity to the Centre and the State Government to divert people’s attention from the crisis faced by ruling system and mount attack on the people in the name of confronting Left Wing Extremism (LWE). While the UPA Government is crisis-ridden, the BJD regime in the State faces mounting wrath of the people, he said.Ramchandran’s statement was released at a media conference addressed by State unit secretary Sivram and other leaders. He further said instead of stopping Operation Greenhunt as demanded by the Maoists, the governments will instead intensify it. Even if they succeed in getting some of their cadres released from jail as in the past because of the so-called peace talks, it will be a further justification for the State forces to kill their cadres in fake encounters, he added.
