New Delhi: A Delhi Court on Monday allowed Rahul Mahajan, the son of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan and accused in a drug abuse case, to leave Delhi for Mumbai after July 31.
Additional Sessions Judge S N Gupta disposed of an application moved by Rahul and permitted him to leave Delhi after July 31.
Rahul had moved the application after the Delhi High Court on July 20 and stayed for his brain mapping test.
Rahul, on July 18, had moved the High Court challenging the "brain mapping" test ordered by the trial judge against him in the case.
In his application, he had said the order passed by the Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) on June 29 was "unconstitutional" and beyond the purview of the courts in the country.
He contended that the order to conduct a brain mapping test on him was an invasion of his personal liberty and privacy guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution.
The Delhi Police on June 29 got the permission to conduct a brain mapping test on Rahul any day after July 27.
Later, on July 21, Rahul even filed a caveat in the Supreme Court to pr-empt any possible move on the part of Delhi Police to get an ex-parte order against Delhi High Court's direction staying his brain mapping test.
