KOCHI: The Kochi corporation will soon submit for approval the list of small, medium and large-scale projects, to be executed by utlising the funds provided by the Local Self Government Department, before the District Planning Council(DPC). The projects will be implemented with financial aid from the state under the plan fund, the financial support of 13th Financial Commission and the maintenance grant.“The list and other details of the projects are under preparation. We are planning to submit it before the Planning Commission next month,” said Kochi Mayor Tony Chammany. The DPC has approved various projects worth `100 crore for the local bodies in the district. The District panchayat, Kochi Corporation and Paravoor Municipality are yet to submit the list of their projects. The rest of the local bodies have already submitted the list. The municipalities that were given approval for the projects by the DPC include Moovattupuzha and Perumbavoor. The gramapanchayaths including Kadamakkudy, Nayarambalam, Pallip puram, Elamkunnappuzha, Chottanikkara, Malayattoor, Neeliswaram, Ashamannoor, Mulavukadu, Amballoor, Njarakkal and Keerimbara have also got the approval. The projects were also approved for Block panchayats like Kothamangalam, Mulanthuruthy, Vypeen, Palluruthy and Koovappady. The DPC is yet to decide the date for its next meeting to discuss the projects to be approved for the Kochi Corporation and Paravoor municipality and the district panchayat. The meeting will be presided over by district panchayat president Eldose Kunnappally, who is also the chairman of the DPC.
