Congress protests against Modi

BANGALORE: Dissenting the arrest of suspended IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt by the Gujarat Police, Congress workers staged a protest here on Monday, vowing to support the officer against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.The activists led by Congress legislator R Roshan Baig and others raised slogans against the Modi and his government for targeting a honest police officer. They also expressed anguish against social activist Anna Hazare for maintaining silence on the arrest.Addressing the gathering, Baig alleged that the Gujarat BJP government is misusing official machinery to silence those who were critical about Modi's role after the Godhra carnage, and the eventual violence that shook the state.
