THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Colombian film The Colors of the Mountain, directed by Carlos Cesar Arbelaez, has won the Golden Crow Pheasant Award at the 16th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). The award was announced at the valedictory function of the eight-day festival that ended here on Friday.The film’s director Arbelaez and production company El Bus Producciones will share a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh that goes with the award.The Silver Crow Pheasant Award for the best director was awarded to Iranian director Hamid Reza Aligholian for his film Flamingo No.13.  This award carries a cash prize of Rs 4 lakh.The Silver Crow Pheasant Award and a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh for the best debut film went to Sebastian Hiriart, for his Mexican  movie A Stone’s   Throw Away.The Silver Crow Pheasant Award, adjudged by the audience, went to The Painting Lesson, a Chilean film directed by Pablo Perelman. This award carries a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh.The international jury for these awards had Bruce Beresford, a filmmaker from Australia, as its chairperson. Other members of jury were Laurence Gavron, Jeffrey Jeturian and Semih Kaplanoglu and Rahul Bose.The award instituted by the Network for Promotion of Asian Film Centre (NETPAC) for the best Asian film went to At The End of it All, directed by Aditi Roy.Adaminte Makan Abu, directed by Salim Ahmed,  was adjudged the best Malayalam film. This award is also instituted by NETPAC.German movie The Future Lasts Forever won the award instituted by the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) for the best film. The FIPRESCI award for the best Malayalam film also went to Adaminte Makan Abu. The Hassankutty Award for the best Indian debut film, instituted by filmmaker Meera Nair, was also bagged by Adaminte Makan Abu. This award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000. Minister for Cinema K B Ganesh Kumar, Labour Minister Shibu Baby John, Minister for Panchayath M K Muneer and  Chalachitra Academy Chairman Priyadarshan were also present at the function.
