The report also mentioned establishment of 20 new STCs in areas where there are no such centres and setting up of sports academies at suitable places for boxing, wrestling, archery and football.
Stating that sportspersons of Odisha have been excelling at national and international levels bringing laurels to the country, Naveen said establishment of such high quality coaching facilities by SAI will further boost the performance of the sportspersons of the State.
The Chief Minister said the Government has a number of stadiums/sports complexes where such coaching facilities of SAI can be established immediately. Or else, if required by SAI, suitable Government land can also be allotted for establishment of the coaching facilities, he said.
In a separate letter to Maken, the Chief Minister requested for establishment of physical education university/college in Odisha. Naveen said the State has one physical education college located at Kulundi in Sambalpur district over 25 acres of land.
