Beijing: Believe it or not, China generates about 50 billion junk e-mails annually, or 17.2 junk e-mails per Internet surfer per week.
From last February to last August, at least 150 thousand junk E-mail reports were sent to the Junk E-mail Office of Internet Society of China, reports the China News.
So alarming is the junk e-mail situation, that several foreign countries are rejecting e-mails from China.
China sometimes is only a transit station for junk E-mail senders in other countries.
According to data collected by Sophos, China was the second largest junk E-mail sender in the world in the second half of 2006.
The first was the USA, which generated no less than 23.2 per cent of the world's junk e-mails.
