Chautala case: Interpol aid demaded
Senior Cong leader Karan Dalal urged the CBI to take Interpol's help to unearth the properties allegedly owned by Chautala.

Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader Karan Singh Dalal urged the CBI on Tuesday to take the Interpol help to unearth the properties allegedly owned by former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala and his family in the US, the UK and Australia.

"A request is being made to the CBI Director that the whole of property owned by the Chautala family in the US, the UK and Australia be forfeited and for this purpose the help of the Interpol and other international agencies may kindly be taken," MLA Karan Dalal said at a press conference on Tuesday.

It was at Dalal's residence last year that the CBI had found and collected a copy of a charge sheet prepared by the Congress against Chautala for having allegedly amassed thousands of crores of rupees through corrupt means.

The CBI had raided over two-dozen residential and commercial premises of the Chautala family recently in connection with a disproportionate assets case lodged on the basis of the Congress charge sheet.

The agency had valued Mr Chautala's assets at over Rs 1400 crore and filed an FIR against him.

Dalal also demanded arrest of Abhey Chautala, son of Om Prakash Chautala, in connection with the murder of a Youth Congress leader in Sirsa in which a conspiracy case had been booked against the Chautala junior.
