Chandika Homam on October 23

A Chandika Homam will be conducted on the premises of the Lord Dharma Sastha temple at Thekke Madom in Mattancherry in connection with the Navarathri festival. Preparatory to the Chandika Homam on October 23, a Prathyaksha Mahaganapathy Homam will be conducted on October 22 at 5.30 am. The homam will be followed by Yagasala Pravesham, Kalasa Sthapanam and the recital of Devi Mahatmyam. Sree Sooktha homam and the recital of Vedas, Lalitha Sahasranamam, Vishnu Saharanamam and Soundarya Lahari are the other rituals of the day.

The Vighneswara pooja and the Navagraha pooja on October 23 morning will be followed by Chandika Homam, Poornahuthy, Brahmachari pooja, Kanyaka pooja, Suvasini pooja and Maha Poornahuthy. The rituals will conclude with Mahad Aseervadam around 12.30 pm, according to a statement issued by the Thekke Madom Maharudra Committee which is organising the Chandika Homam.
