The government has issued at least 8 ordinances so far including the one to raise FDI in insurance and e-auction of coal mines.
New Delhi: The Cabinet committee on Political Affairs will meet on Wednesday to announce the dates for the budget session. According to sources, the session is likely from Febuary 23.
With President Pranab Mukherjee voicing his objection to the 'Ordinance route', the government is planning to introduce the recent ordinances as bills in the budget session. Senior ministers will be discussing how to get legislative approval for the bills. Reportedly, if the government fails to pass them in the Rajya Sabha were it does not enjoy a majority, a joint session of Parliament may be called.
