THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: From now on, persons declared brain dead in the state can donate their  organs to those in need, Health Minister Adoor Prakash told a press conference here on Tuesday. Cadaver transplantation programme, already implemented in neighbouring states such as Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu would be implemented in the state too. This follows a study report recommended by a committee of four doctors.Several government orders related to this has been passed. This includes the one for Organ Transplantation Centres that would be participating in this project and the order explaining the duties and responsibilities of Non-Organ Transplant Retrieval Centres. A Core Committee has been set up for Cadaver Transplantation under the supervision of the Director of Medical Education and a Cadavar Transplant Advisory Committee headed by the Health Secretary.
