B'wood vs South: Ranveer or Ram Charan Teja?
Ranveer's next film 'Lootera' is viewed as another conscious effort to get established as the latest heart throb.

New Delhi: Although Ranveer Singh is just two films old but his meteoric rise can be compared to Ram Charan Teja of the Telugu film industry. Ranveer Singh couldn't ask for a better debut than 'Band Baaja Baaraat'. The instant success of the film brought him into the notice of film buffs as well as big production houses of Bollywood that were looking for a fresh face.

Getting a banner like Yash Raj Films in the very beginning of the career was definitely a good achievement for Ranveer Singh, who did not have any godfather in the industry.

Ram Charan Teja, on the other hand, had a great performer and powerful politician Chiranjeevi as father. Teja was launched with highly publicized 'Chirutha' in 2007. Chiranjeevi's huge fan following and good promotional drive ensured the success of 'Chirutha'.

However Ram Charan later proved that the success of 'Chirutha' was not just the sheer luck. His 2009 release 'Magadheera' turned out to be a huge hit. The film ran for more than 300 days at some halls. Good success in the overseas market helped it in becoming the highest grossing Telugu film ever. If media reports are to be believed, then 'Magadheera' collected more than Rs 87 crore at the box office.

Similar to 'Magadheera', 'Band Baaja Baaraat' brought acknowledgement for Ranveer Singh's talent. The actor received several awards for his power packed performance in 'BBB'.

The similarities between both the actors can be traced not only in their body language but also in their mannerism.

Teja's latest film 'Orange' has not done well at the ticket window but that did not deter the critics from praising his performance.

Initial trade reports of 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl' suggest that the film is inching towards a good finish. Ranveer has won accolades despite a flawed screenplay.

Ranveer's next film 'Lootera' is viewed as another conscious effort to get established as the latest heart throb. He very clearly understands that the existing kings of Bollywood will leave space for younger actors in the near future and no any actor other than Ranbir Kapoor has shown promise to take the baton, therefore Ranveer Singh is putting extra efforts in remaining public view all the time.

Teja's upcoming films 'Rachaa', 'Cherry' and 'Yevadu' are also expected to create a lot of buzz before their scheduled releases but his worth as an actor would be realized after some more films.

At present, Ranveer and Teja seemed to have gained a little respectful position in their respective film industries but only forthcoming films will decide their rankings on the popularity meter.
