Shlok, the son of Hari Agrahari, a native of Devri Khurd region, was released on Monday night near Sarkanda police station, Bilaspur Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Pandey said.
"Sensing that police was approaching them, the kidnappers were compelled to leave the child. On Monday night, motorcycle borne miscreants left the child near Sarkanda police station," Pandey said.
"The kidnappers asked the boy to go inside the police station saying his parents were waiting there. The police informed the boy's parents and they took him home," he said.
"The priority of the police was to rescue the child, he said, adding that efforts were being made to nab the culprits. The abductors had demanded Rs 10 lakh ransom from the boy's parents after which the police intensified their search in various parts of the city," he said.
Shlok had suddenly gone missing from the 'City 36' mall when his family members were sitting in a restaurant on Sunday night. After not finding Shlok in the mall, his family members informed the police. Later, the kidnappers had called up the boy's parents asking for ransom.
