Omkareshwar (MP): The Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Pandhana in Madhya Pradesh, Kishori Lal Verma and his wife were stabbed to dead on Saturday morning according to initial reports.
Verma and his wife were stabbed when they went to take a holy dip in the River Narmada in Omkareshwar.
Reports said, the assailants came in a car and fled as soon as they stabbed the couple.
Police have reached the spot of the crime and a massive manhunt is being undertaken.
Meanwhile, Police have arrested Verma's servant for questioning.
Verma was the education minister in the government of former Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa.
