Bhubaneswar-Bhadark Train Collides With Goods Train in Cuttack, 1 Dead
According to East Coast Railway official, initial reports suggest that Bhubaneswar-Bhadark passenger train (train number 78408) collided with the rear of a goods train at around 6.30 pm.

Cuttack: In a tragic incident, one passenger was killed and several were critically injured in a train collision at Kathajodi railway station in Cuttack on Thursday evening.

8 persons, in critical condition, were admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

According to East Coast Railway official (ECoR), initial reports suggest that Bhubaneswar-Bhadark passenger train (train number 78408) collided with the rear of a stationary goods train at around 6.30 pm.

Senior Railway officers with accident relief trains and medical van have already rushed to the spot, the ECoR sources added.

Speaking to CNN News18, Twin City Police Commissioner Y.B. Khurania who was at the spot said two passengers were stuck in the mangled bogey and rescue operation is underway.

Meanwhile, Chief Safety Officer of ECoR and Khurda Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) have also rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.

ODRAF team of Odisha Government and ambulances have also been pressed into the rescue operation.

Train services between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are affected as of now, the ECoR sources informed.
