CHENNAI: A man claiming to be an actor and assistant of actor Bhagyaraj, lodged a complaint with the City Police Commissioner against two persons, including a film producer, of cheating and sought police intervention to get back his money of Rs 7.5 lakh.
Sembuli Jagan of MGR Nagar stated in his complaint that he had worked as an assistant to actor Bhagyaraj for the past 20 years. A year ago, a producer from West Mambalam had approached him to make a film for him.It took a year for Sembuli Jagan to finalise a script, but till then he was not paid by the producer and claimed that he lived by pawning his wife's jewellery.

After finalising the script, the producer had borrowed Rs 50 lakh from a financier in Hyderabad, who was introduced to him by a friend.

Sembuli claimed in his complaint that they had changed his negative rights to their name and even taken his signature on a blank paper. They had also changed their phone numbers and address. Sembuli sought police help to get back the Rs 7.5 lakh he had borrowed from his friend.
