BANGALORE: The non-cooperation of officials in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials has become a hindrance to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) police who are investigating the multicrore bogus bill scam as well as the fire accident in civic body. Following a State government order, the probe of the alleged scam and the fire incident were handed over to the CID from the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF). According to CID officials, they asked the list of documents which were burnt in the fire mishap, but officials reportedly told CID police that they are yet to collect details.The fire incident took place more than 20 days ago. However, sources said the BBMP officials are still giving lame excuses that they are yet to collect the details fo the files burnt in the incident. “They are even giving us reason that the IT system was partially damaged in the mishap and it is very difficult for them to retrieve those details. The BBMP officials are just non-cooperative,” a CID police official said.Meanwhile, former Commissioner Siddaiah had written letter thrice to G Manjunath Raju, Chairperson of Standing Committee for Taxation and Finance, to hand over the files related to the multicrore bogus bill scam. He wrote his first letter on November 15. Manjunath claimed that he has 133 files related to the scam, but denied to hand them over to the Commissioner, unless he receives direction from the Mayor or the Councilapproval. Even the present Commissioner M K Shankaralinge Gowda had written letters to Manjunath Raju, butin vein.When contacted, ruling party President B R Nanjundappa said that Commissioner has directed Manjunath Raju on Friday to handover the files related to scam to the respective zonal executive engineers. “There is a list of documents with executive engineers. As this Saturday is a closed holiday, they will come and collect on Monday.”When asked about the officials’ non-cooperation, Nanjundappa said that CID police officials should not ask the officials directly. “There is a procedure for everything. They should ask either Commissioner or Mayor,” he added.
