Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister R Ashok said that the state government would seek Centre and Interpol’s support to track terror trails in and outside Karnataka.
“So far, investigations have revealed that the terror network extends to other states as well. We have given all power and freedom to the police and we are seeking help from the Centre and Interpol,” Ashok said on the sidelines of a programme here on Sunday.
Referring to the recent arrests in Hyderabad, he said, “Andhra Pradesh government is giving us a good support and the results are showing in our investigations.” He further confirmed that the root of the terrorist plots are in Saudi Arabia.
“We also have information that the suspects had links with Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI),” Ashok said.
State Intelligence Failed: Siddu
Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah in Hubli on Sunday stated that the State Intelligence had utterly failed in providing information on the anti-national activities in the state and their nexus with terror groups. He said that it was the duty of the Intelligence Department to in form the government in the preliminary stage. “However, the Central Crime Branch has done the job. There is a need to improve the efficiency of the intelligence wing with exquisite training.”
