Another Chilly Day in Delhi, Fog Affects 35 Trains

New Delhi: It was another chilly day in the national capital on Sunday with shallow foggy conditions in the morning affecting the movement of 35 trains, 26 of which got delayed due to poor visibility.

The minimum temperature settled at 7.2 degrees Celsius, one notch below of what is normal for this time of the year, and the maximum was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.

Visibility was recorded at 600 metres at 5.30 AM both at Safdarjung and Palam. At 8.30 AM, visibility was recorded at 500 metres at Safdarjung and 300 metres at Palam, a MeT department official said.

According to a railway official, 26 trains were running behind their respective schedules while nine trains have been rescheduled due to poor visibility caused by the fog layer.

Relative humidity oscillated between 39 and 97 per cent.

The weatherman has predicted mainly clear skies for tomorrow with the likelihood of some mist and haze.

Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 23 and 7 degrees Celsius, respectively.

On Saturday, minimum and maximum temperatures were recorded at 8.2 degrees Celsius and 21.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
