Hyderabad: In a late night exercise, the Andhra Pradesh government on Monday transferred 21 officers of the Indian Administrative Service including some who were not happy with their earlier posting. Some senior IAS officers, who had proceeded on leave protesting their "insignificant" posting in the previous round of transfers on June 15, have been "rehabilitated" in new positions in the fresh round of reshuffle.
IYR Krishna Rao of the 1979 batch, who proceeded on leave following his posting as Principal Secretary, Labour, has now been made Principal Secretary, Agriculture Marketing and Co-operation. It is uncertain if Krishna Rao, who previously served in the coveted post of Executive Officer, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, would take the new post.
State Health Minister DL Ravindra Reddy finally succeeded in getting Principal Secretary in his department, PV Ramesh of 1985 batch, moved out to Youth Services and Sports, with additional charge of the Culture Department as well.
Another sulking officer Vinod Kumar Agarwal has been made Principal Secretary, Public Enterprises Department, cancelling his earlier posting as Commissioner (Appeals) in the office of Chief Commissioner of Land Administration.
Yet another IAS officer B Aravinda Reddy got his posting as Special Commissioner in the CCLA office cancelled and secured a new appointment as Commissioner and Director, Agriculture Marketing.
Another senior officer AR Sukumar has now been posted as Special Commissioner in the CCLA office, according to an order issued by state Chief Secretary SV Prasad.
Among the other significant changes made on Monday, D Lakshmi Parthasarathy of 1980 batch has been moved as Principal Secretary, Transport, while incumbent Dinesh Kumar has been posted as Principal Secretary, Energy.
Suthirtha Bhattacharya has been shifted from Energy Department to Infrastructure and Investment in place of Ajay Misra who became the crucial Principal Secretary (Political) in the General Administration Department.
In the junior grades, N Yuvaraj of 2005 batch has been posted as Joint Collector of Guntur district while incumbent A Sharat has been shifted to Medak district in the same position.
Indian Revenue Service officer Bhupal Reddy has been posted as Project Director, Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas, in the existing vacancy.
