One of the Kakinada natives said that consuming tea in these small cups is better than drinking it in a plastic glass.

A couple named Suresh and Swapna from Sai Nagar, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh is currently in the news. According to Local 18 Telugu, they are making edible tea cups with ragi flour, sorghum flour, jaggery, etc. The couple said that an ingredient named pindli, good for treating many health ailments is also used in the making of the teacup. They have kept Rs 5 as the cup’s cost and said that it is nutritious for an individual’s health.

According to them, for the best use, people should consume any beverage in these cups and then eat them. Besides being used for the tea shops in the morning, these are also being used for serving juices, in ice cream parlours and as snacks for children too. The couple claimed that the people will be healthier if they are given food through this cup during mealtime. These cups serve twin purposes, i.e.- they benefit the individual’s health and are also environment friendly.

The cups made by Suresh and Swapna are in huge demand in Sai Nagar, Kakinada. One of the natives narrated his experience of using it. The person said that consuming tea in these small cups is better than drinking it in a plastic glass. A sizeable number of people are habitual of drinking tea in the morning and due to this reason, the cups are being sold there in huge numbers.

The cups made by Suresh and Swapna highlight the importance of consuming healthy and nutritious food. In today’s time, people are suffering from many health-related ailments by eating unhealthy junk foods. Eating these cups will have a positive impact on their health which is of prime importance for a good quality life.

As per Local 18 Telugu, Swapna pours tea into cups and packs them for the orders. For an additional safety purpose, she can also use hand gloves which will not put her hands in direct contact with the cup. This can avoid any hygiene-related problems that could also spoil the nutritional values of the edible cups. Suresh and Swapna are operating this business in their house only with little or minimum equipment.
