HYDERABAD: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad activists tried to lay siege to the Ministers’ quarters at Road No 12 in Banjara Hills on Sunday demanding ministers from the region to resign their posts and join the ongoing T agitation.Police had to use mild force and took more than 30 ABVP activists into custody. Demanding immediate resolution on a separate Telangana and seeking resignations of Telangana ministers, 30 ABVP activists reached the Ministers’ quarters on Sunday morning. They sat on the road leading to the quarters and shouted slogans against T ministers not taking active part in the ongoing agitations. As the ABVP activists tried to barge into the quarters, police resorted to mild lathicharge and took more than 30 activists into custody. They were later shifted to Banjara Hills police station.ABVP national executive member T Ramakrishna said the ministers from Telangana had earlier promised to join and strengthen the ongoing separate Telangana movement but had failed to fulfil their promise.He demanded resignations of Telangana ministers by owning responsibility for the failure to get a separate Telangana. The ABVP activists also protested against Panchayat Raj minister K Jana Reddy's recent remarks asking the government employees to put an end to the Sakala Janula Samme and join work. Meanwhile, ABVP activists burnt chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's effigy at the Arts College in Osmania University protesting the arrests.
