55-year-old man kills sister-in-law, commits suicide

A 55-year-old man allegedly killed his sister-in-law and later committed suicide by consuming poison at Ghasipura village in Muzaffarnagar, police said.

"The accused, Brijpal was staying with Urmila after his wife's death. Urmila was also a widow but they were not officially married," police said.

"After the duo had an argument on Monday, Brijpal hacked her to death and later consumed poison," Circle Officer DK Mittal told reporters.

"Urmila's son has lodged a complaint against Brijpal in this connection," Mittal said adding, "the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and police is further probing the issue."
