New Delhi: City Express spoke to some of the newsmakers of 2011 about how they intend to celebrate the New Year and their big aspirations for 2012.
Actress Janani Iyer
2011 was definitely a special year for me, as I made my debut as an actress. Before that, I was able to go out freely, as people wouldn't recognize me. So, on the professional front, I want to do more meaningful movies. This New Year, my friends and I had planned to go to Goa. However, I'm in Pollachi for a shoot and don't think I can make it. I hope to join them at least for the road trip that we have been planning for a while.
Music Director G V Prakash
Next year, there are quite a few things that I want to do. As I'm getting engaged next year, I'm planning a US trip with my family. Also, I've always wanted to attend the Cannes Film Festival and I hope that that wish will be fulfilled in 2012. I will be attending the premiere of my film, 'Gangs of Wasseypur'. Also, next year, I will be introduced to Bollywood.

2011 has been a great year for me. After the release of 'Vaagai Sooda Vaa', there is no looking back. So I'm hoping for an equally prosperous 2012. I generally don't have any bucket list, but I've always wanted to fl y in a helicopter and use a parachute. I always wanted to do a film where I play the role of a classical dancer.

I always make sure that I spend the New Year with my family. This year, I'm in Chennai and we are having a party in a beach house. This is the only time I will get to spend time with my loved ones. But there is one thing in my bucket list – I want to spend my summers in the US. Also, I want to buy a puppy once my shoot is over.

I have signed quite a few films and there are some that are going to be released next year. However, I have always wanted to go on a long cruise. I have been planning it for the past two years and hope to fulfill this wish in 2012. Probably, I will do a 15 day cruise trip during the summer. For New Year, I'm planning to go to Europe, where I intend to celebrate my birthday.

The moment someone mentions 2012, the first thing that comes to mind is the film. I hope that the world does not come to an end (laughs). On a serious note, I want my films 'Tirutanni' and 'Kadirvel' to hit screens. 'Tirutanni' is bound to release in January. I just want to do good films in this coming year.
Actress Hansika Motwani
This has been a very special year for me. That's because I have been chosen as the number one actress by Big FM. I don't have any special wishes per se. But then, this New Year will be a special occasion for me. I will be welcoming it with 20 children I've adopted. I intend to take them to a hill station called Lonavala to celebrate the New Year. As far as professional wishes are concerned, I intend to keep entertaining the masses as I did in 2011.
Actor Suriya
This year has been a phenomenally successful one for me. I will be hosting a show on television for the first time next year. It is something that is new for me and I hope it goes off well. Every time I come on screen, I have the responsibility of delivering something bigger and better than what I delivered last time. I am also working hard to live up to expectations. That is especially the case in 'Maatran', which is really challenging and which will be releasing in 2012.
