New Delhi: Over two dozen villages in Muzaffarnagar decided to boycott the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls as they are not satisfied with the drinking water supply.
Along with the upcoming elections, the villages also decided to boycott the on-going polio vaccination drive in the state.
The villagers had requested the administration to look into the drinking water situation in the village as they were reportedly being supplied unclean drinking water from the polluted Krishna river.
The villages that are affected by the situation are Dakhodi, Jamalpur, Dabheri, Jalalabad, Chandenamal, Titarsi, Bantikhera, Kedi, Babri, Banat, Kabaraut, Hiramwada, Tilfara and Bhaneda.
Meanwhile, the district headquarters, in a report, said that the administration had done nothing to improve the situation despite complaints.
