HYDERABAD: YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP-elect YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Nellore Congress MP Mekapati Rajamohana Reddy and as many as 12 Congress MLAs and one PRP legislator were among those who accompanied YSR’s widow YS Vijayalakshmi to the Assembly on Friday and were witness to her oath-taking as MLA representing the Pulivendula constituency in Kadapa district. As soon as they arrived at the Assembly, they straightaway headed to the chamber of pro tem speaker JC Diwakar Reddy where Vijayamma took the oath at about 12.20 pm. With the TDP serving a notice for moving a no-confidence motion against the state government after Jagan Mohan Reddy had dared it to do so to prove that it was not hobnobbing with the Congress, the presence of 12 Congress MLAs at the oath-taking by Vijayamma evoked considerable interest. The Congress MLAs who accompanied Vijayamma were: Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy (Kakinada), P Ravi (Putalapattu), Jayasudha (Secunderabad), C Adinarayana Reddy (Jammalamadugu), K Bharathi (Tekkali), M Prasada Raju (Narasapuram), K Srinivasulu (Kodur), K Surekha (Parkal), Mekapati Chandrasekhara Reddy (Udayagiri), A Amarnath Reddy (Rajampet), G Babu Rao (Payakaraopet) and D Krishna Das (Narsannapeta).
