New Delhi: Students of a public school suffered injuries when their school bus overturned near Kashmere Gate in Delhi. The incident took place around 8 am on Tuesday morning.
The driver had taken a sharp turn, to save some pedestrians who were on the road due to which the bus turned turtle. At least 12 children were seriously injured while others suffered minor injuries.
The injured children were rushed to the nearby Sushruta Trauma Centre and Aruna Asaf Ali Government Hospital, said a senior police official. There were around 30 students belonging to Rukmani Devi and Victoria Girls Senior Secondary schools in Civil lines.
"The incident happened at around 8 am when the bus was coming from the ISBT flyover. Some pedestrians were crossing the road and the driver in a bid to stop the bus applied brakes. He is believed to have lost control over the vehicle and overturned," said the official.
