1 killed, 4 injured in truck-autorickshaw collision near Saraiya crossing

A woman was killed and four other persons injured on Saturday in a collision between a truck and an autorickshaw on NH-31 near Saraiya crossing under Baisi police station area in Bihar's Purnia district, police sources said.

The mishap took place as a speeding truck collided head-on with an autorickshaw carrying some passengers after the drivers failed to sight the other vehicle in thick fog, the sources said.

An autorickshaw passenger Rehana Khatun died on the spot, while four other occupants sustained injuries, they said. The body has been sent for post-mortem and the injured persons admitted to a Primary Health Centre (PHC) for treatment, the sources said. The truck driver escaped with the vehicle, they added.
