Rooney escapes ban for Aalborg stamp
UEFA deem his stamp on Aalborg's Kasper Risgard to be unworthy of punishment.

New Delhi: It seems UEFA are a little more reluctant than the Manchester United forward to put their foot down.

Hot on the heels of the Football Association's confirmation that no action will be taken against Cristiano Ronaldo for his weekend kick-out at Tottenham Hotspur's Michael Dawson, Wayne Rooney has also been let off the hook.

UEFA have deemed his stamp on Aalborg's Kasper Risgard to be unworthy of punishment after reviewing the incident, which occured during the final matchday of the Champions League group stage.

Risgard himself was left bruised by the incident, but UEFA, having studied video evidence, have decided to take no action whatsoever.

"UEFA will not open any disciplinary proceedings against Wayne Rooney," confirmed a spokesperson.
