New Delhi: Real Madrid are to depart the Spanish capital for the greener and cooler climes of Ireland on Monday as they continue pre-season preparations.
The Spanish runners-up are due to play against Shamrock Rovers in south Dublin on the July 20, but in the meantime they will be based outside the city.
The Carton House Hotel in County Kildare, approximately 25 minutes' drive from Shamrock Rovers' stadium, is to be their home for the next nine days.
The hotel is based near the town of Maynooth amidst country grounds, offering amenities ranging from spa treatments to fishing.
The Madrid players will have little opportunity to avail themselves of these, however, as they are to spend most of their days training at what have been described by tour managers as 'elite facilities'.
The group responsible for bringing Madrid to the country, Platinum One, last year oversaw Barcelona's training and friendly tour of Scotland.
Real Madrid, complete with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema - but set to be without the on-leave Kaka - are due to remain in Ireland until July 22.
